Die Red Hot Chili Peppers sind eine kalifornische Rockband. Sie gelten als eine der erfolgreichsten Bands des crossover. Ihr Album Blood Sugar Sex Magik wird als Prototyp für dieses Genre angesehen. Geschichte und Wirken
Nur Anthony Kiedis und Michael „Flea“ Balzary waren von Anfang an Mitglieder der Peppers. Der damalige Drummer war Jack Irons, der Gitarrist Hillel Slovak. Bis 1983 nannte sich die Band „Tony Flow and the Miraculously Majestic Masters of Mayhem“.
