Nelly Kim Furtado (* 2. Dezember 1978 in Victoria, British Columbia, Kanada) ist eine portugiesisch-kanadische Sängerin, Songwriterin und Musikerin. Kindheit und Jugend Nelly Furtado wurde am 2. Dezember 1978 als drittes Kind der portugiesischen Einwanderer Maria Manuela und António José Furtado geboren. Ihren Namen erhielt sie in Anlehnung an die sowjetische Turnerin Nelli Kim. Die Eltern waren 1967 vor dem Salazar-Regime von São Miguel auf den Azoren nach Kanada emigriert.
