Sir James Paul McCartney MBE (* 18. Juni 1942 in Liverpool) ist ein englischer Musiker. Bekannt wurde er als Komponist, Sänger und Bassist der Beatles. Privatleben Paul McCartney wuchs in Liverpool in einer gutbürgerlichen englischen Mittelschichtfamilie auf. McCartney hat einen Bruder (Michael * 1944) und eine Stiefschwester (Ruth * 1959). Von 1963 bis 1968 war McCartney mit der Schauspielerin Jane Asher liiert, mit der er sich 1967 verlobte.
